It is not quite Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, but they are about to start salmon farming in the Emirates.
I doubt there will be much fishing to be had though, as the water in the region is far too warm for salmon to take hold in the wild.

Very sad news that Kev Green has died aged only 40. He was a totally likeable presenter on so many TV fishing programmes, he came over as the sort of guy you'd love to go fishing with. I'll always remember the edition of "Predators" where he hooked, then lost an almost 5lb perch. He was devastated, (as you would be!), & you felt as sorry for him as if it had happened to one of your mates.
Thanks for the memories, Kev, & R. I. P.

Not truly fishing related and I know a lot of people would never consider the video game version of fishing, but for those that do want to stay inside and still be able to fish, or those unable to go fishing due to waiting on an operation, for instance:
GamesCampus has announced World Tour Fishing, an online multiplayer fishing game simulating real world fishing locations from around the globe.
Players challenge themselves to fish through the ranks to professional angler or sport fisher while competing against other players in daily and weekly tournaments.
Spanning 3 continents and hundreds of the most sought after fishing across the globe, WTF let's players experience ocean and river fishing without having to worry about licenses, overfishing, crowds or any of the other inconveniences with real world fishing.
Oh and the most important thing, it is free to play.

It is worrying how much of a mess us humans make of the natural landscape - I was just reading how Asian Carp are now breeding successfully in the Great Lakes.
I suppose at least any of us will be welcome to fish some carp out there, as they want to keep the population down.

what are the chances any of us will get to try out John Terry's new fishing lake he has had built? Quite bizarre really, he built a new mansion, complete with fishing lake, in the garden of his old mansion and then sold the old one.
If you take your missus with you, you might be able to come to some arrangement! ;)

hi all, I am going fishing on the 21st of this month to a lake that is packed with tench and was wondering if anyone had any good tips because I have never fished at this time of year for them and I know they switch off when it starts to get colder, any info will be really appreciated
gooner mark
Hi Mark, sounds a good venue! My suggestion would be to try lobworm. The tench will be wary of boilies etc. after a full summer of fishing. Don't leave your rod unattended though, I've known them take lobs like a barbel bite. Let me know how you get on/

Cheers tezza will do, i'm going for cage feeder tactics with red maggot and worms as hookbait because been told there's loads of bream in there to and they average 3 to 5 lb with some of them reaching 8. the place has had match weights over 100lb consisting of mainly bream and tench so fingers crossed I have a good day
